Evaluation Activity 7- Looking back at your preliminary task (the continuity editing task), what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?
From the beginning, during the process of making my priliminary task and crating my horror movie opening, I have mostly learnt about modern technology. I have learn most about how to edit a film on Adobe Premier Pro. I can now include fades, cuts, special effects, titles, sound effects, etc. I also learnt the many different shot types used in film-making, such as close-up, long shot, panning shot, low angle, high angle etc. I learnt that one important rule in film-making is the '180 degree rule'. This means that you cannot make the mistake of turning the camera so that the people in the shot look like they are the other way round from what they were in the first shot.
Evaluation Activity 6- What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
During the A level media course i have done this year I have learnt many different ways in which technology can be used, and the many different types of technology equipment used in film-making. For example, the camera we used to film our horror movie opening. I had neverused a video camera before and it was confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes easy. I also used a voice recorder for the first time whilst doing this course and found it interesting that I could put that over my video. Something else that I learnt in media studies is how to used adobe photoshop, it was very confusing at first, but interesting when you learn how to use it.
