During the filming of our prilimanry task I learnt how to do a panning shot and other types of shots that i had never heard of before. Filming this made me realise that using a camera is more difficult than it looks and making sure you have the correct angle and you are the correct length away from what/who you are filming is very important.

Horror Movie Planning
We have been thinking about what we are going to name our film. To help us come up with an idea we diecided to plan what is going to happen in our film first. We decided that we are going to base our film around a middle-aged man who has been rejected by many women. But, every time he gets rejected he kills the woman that has rejected him, they become his target. The name we got from this was 'The Reject' or 'Rejected'. We are not certain on these names yet but they are the best we have come up with so far. We also decided on a name for our production company- 'Rainy Daze'.

Analysis of the results of my Movie Questionaire
After 10 volunteers completed this questionaire I found that females in years 9 and below were more fond on the romantic genre, and their choice of film relied on the actors that starred in the film. Males in these years were more fond on comedy or Si-Fi. however, in years 10 and above both males and females were more fond of horror and thriller. And their choice of film relied on the cost of watching the film. This may be that horror and thriller are both aimed at and older target audience, and romance and comedy are aimed at teens a lot.

Title Sequence of 1408
In one of our media lessons we analysed how producers made their title sequence intersting and eye catching. These were the results of our analysis on the film 1408, produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura:
Seconds/minutes | Image
14 | Black screen- ‘Dimension Films Presents’.
29 | Rain pouring down on road. Dark, night time, pathetic fallacy. Weather sets tone, extreme long shot.
35 | Panning shot, then ‘Samuel L. Jackson’.
44 | ‘1408’ appears whilst music starts to play and car lights become brighter. There is a glow around the title and the car, and the title also has a smudge affect, as if the rain has made it run.
47 | Camera tracks the car reversing, shows he has missed a turning.
56 | Point of view shot of house, shining torch.
1:00 | He is lost after missing his turning.
1:15 | Pulling up to the house, car lights shining on it.
1:17 | Shot of back of car.
1:24 | Torrential rain on bridge, trees surrounding.
1:28 | Man walking across bridge in the rain.
1:31 | Shot of the house- characters names still appearing.
1:37 | Scene moves to him walking into hotel. The mise-en-scene changes to a much brighter setting with artificial high key lights.
1:46 | Dialogue begins, him and the hotel owner. The hotel owner seems happy that he has come, as if he has called him out, and needs him for something.
1:50 | Now a shot reverse shot of him and the couple that owns the hotel, they say to him ‘you probably want to know about the ghosts’.
